Commercial at SSD
Commercial Dance covers a wide variety of exciting dance styles, including the widely known styles of street and hip-hop and also the lesser known styles of locking, house and litefeet, with a little bit of freestyle thrown in! It's a type of dance seen in the likes of music videos and is heavily associated with pop music and pop culture, making it very current and on-trend.
Commercial Dance is the reason that Simon Says Dance began, back in 2011. With over 500 students in our Commercial classes, we're proud to be one of the biggest Commercial Dance providers in Scotland.

Our Commercial Classes
We offer Commercial Dance across a wide age-range, allowing students from as young as 3yrs old to experience this fun and exciting style, assisting in the development of social skills and self-confidence:
Nursery (3yrs+)
Nursery Classes offer children aged 3 - 4.5 the opportunity to enjoy movement to current chart pop song favourites! SSD introduces funky moves through exercises and fun games, allowing your child to learn the basics of Commercial Dance in a 30 minute class - it's perfect for those kids who just can't keep still when they hear a tune! From October 2020, our fabulous Commercial Teachers Caitlin and Amy will take over Commercial Nursery classes.
P1-3 and P4-7
SSD Commercial P1-3 and P4-7 classes offer children in these age groups the opportunity to enjoy get their groove on to much-loved pop songs of the charts! At these age groups, we begin introducing the more intricate moves associated with the various styles that Commercial dance encompasses, allowing your child to develop their Commercial skill in a 40 minute class. These age groups are taught by Simon, Savanna or Jazmine (depending on Venue).
Teen
Specifically for Teens, this class offers those who love to dance the opportunity to come along and learn the freshest Commercial choreography with Simon each week. Each week there's a new song, new routine and fun vibes. At the end of each class, the routine is filmed for social media. A chance for teens to come and develop their own Commercial and freestyle skill in a 1hr class.
Commercial Academies (5yrs+)
SSD Commercial Academies push the boundaries of Commercial Dance and are designed specifically to develop and enhance Commercial skill. We offer a 1hr Junior Academy for youngsters aged 5+ on Saturdays and offer our 3hr Commercial Academy for ages 8.5yrs+ on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. SSD Commercial Academies allow students to drive their passion for dance and become well-rounded Commercial dancers, all whilst having fun and making friends.
