location & ARRIVAL
Your booking confirmation email will detail any specific venue information you need to be aware of, under 'Venue Notes'. Please pay close attention to this, and note that if you're driving to a class with us, you'll need to find parking near the venue and walk to it. Kindly respect our residential neighbours, and do not block access to property.
Longstone Dancers: It's very important that parents do not stop, drop off or collect students via the access road directly outside our studio gates as it's a clearway for access reasons. Please do not park in the Chinese Supermarket car park either, as it's strictly for their customers and they will ask you to move your vehicle. Park on the main road, nearby streets or Sainsbury's (2min walk) if you plan to do a shop while your child dances with us.
Class Wear: Students booked into a term must follow our Uniform Guidelines. Note that specific uniform isn't applicable for trial sessions.
On arrival at the class venue: Please wait outside the venue until a team member calls students inside - in most cases we have classes running before, so the team need to ensure the studio is ready before welcoming students inside. For our 3yrs+ classes, please note that we do not have areas for parents to wait and we can't admit parents into the spaces we use for capacity reasons, so please drop off and return to collect. If you foresee this being an issue for your child, please contact us.

BOOKINg & rebooking
If you've booked a trial session, you will receive an email invite after your child's trial inviting you to book the rest of the term. You can respond to that email (which may arrive in junk) to either accept or decline the invite. If you have other children attending classes with us, be sure to add the applicable discount code before making any payment - if in doubt contact us and we can assist.
Once you've accepted your invite, you'll receive a further booking confirmation with the remaining session dates in the term and total amount due. After trial, you can pay your term booking via cash at class, via bank transfer or via the Class4Kids booking portal.

We will be in touch with you in advance of a new term to confirm this, which will allow you to make a cancellation if necessary. Only a member of staff can make booking cancellations and we have a 14-day notice period applicable for auto-enrolment cancellations. If your child is due to move into a different age-group at a certain point, we'll be in touch to discuss with you directly.

the academic year
Students attending our classes work on numerous pieces of choreography and class content through the Academic Year, developing wonderful routines and experiences that challenge students and help them to build on their dance and performance skills. On the last week of a term, we usually have a little more fun in class to celebrate the end of a term - it's lots of fun and great for building friendships in class!
Our Academy students also have the opportunity to take part in various activities across the Academic Year, in addition to their weekly term-time classes.
Every September (or there about) we host an Internal Dance Competition for our Academy students, where they can take part in a fun event to showcase their dance skill, judged by a panel of selected judges. This is a ticketed event for both participants and spectators, and we share registration info in advance of the event.
Every October, our Academy students have the option to take part in our annual Academy show - performed on a stage at a specially chosen venue. It's a wonderful opportunity for students to be part of a brilliant show spectacle, choreographed by the talented teaching team, and to showcase student progress. This is a ticketed event for both participants and spectators, and we share registration info in advance of the event.
Every February (or there about), we host an Annual Academy Awards Ball - an excuse to get dressed up and to celebrate our peer-voted and student of the year, announced live at the event, complete with DJ and dance floor at a specially chosen venue. It's a fun event for the family which allows our dancers to socialise in a space outside the studio, whilst also celebrating all the hard work put in throughout the year. Our Annual Awards Ball is optional participation, but is a ticketed event with details shared in advance.
Towards the end of each Academic year (Spring/Summer) our Commercial Academy students have the free opportunity to participate in a fully-pledged Music Video at a hand-picked location in Edinburgh (or surrounding area). Students work towards the music video choreography in class then at the chosen venue, students perform their choreography whilst being filmed by a professional film crew. It's an amazing opportunity for the students to get involved with, allowing them to gain experience in a music video setting whilst getting an authentic insight into what Commercial Dance is used for in the performing world. It's definitely something to remember!
We have a handy 'Save the Date' section on our website for events throughout the year.
