Junior SSD Commercial Academy
SSD Commercial Academy is Edinburgh's leading Commercial Dance offering, specifically designed to push the boundaries of this hugely popular style of dance. For ages 5-12yrs, Junior SSD Commercial Academy is a 1hr weekly offering at SSDHQ Dance Studios in Longstone. The 1hr session has been tailored to develop students in the multiple dance styles that fall under the umbrella of Commercial, whilst allowing students to make new friends within a fun and inclusive environment for all abilities.
This offering is a less intense approach, compared to our 3hr Commercial Academy offering for ages 8.5yrs+. This offering is non-syllabus. Find out more in our FAQs section.

Exploring various styles including House, New Jack Swing, Waacking, Street and Hip Hop to name a few. Always current and fresh material.
All teachers are PVG registered, hold Public Liability Insurance and have vast and specific professional performing and teaching experience in the dancing industry. SSDCA is not inter-linked with the weekly Simon Says Dance classes.
Annual Music Video
Towards the end of each year, our Commercial Academy students all have the FREE opportunity to participate in a fully-pledged music video at a hand-picked location in Edinburgh (or surrounding area!)
Students work towards the music video choreography in class then at the chosen venue, students perform their choreography whilst being filmed by a professional film crew. It's an amazing opportunity for the students to get involved with, allowing them to gain experience in a music video setting whilst getting an authentic insight into what Commercial Dance is used for in the performing world. It's definitely something to remember!
